The Technical Artist generates computerized artwork, including proofs and film layouts according to customer artwork/blueprints and departmental procedures. Reviews customer artwork/blueprints for usability and identifies printing issues. Maintains and stores customer artwork/blueprints in original state received and converts a copy of the original customer artwork/blueprints for generation of final artwork into Illustrator.

  • Converts customer supplied files to Illustrator and stores them in the customer art folder.
  • Reviews customer artwork and blueprints for missing information and usability of the artwork; contacts customer service with usability issues and questions.
  • Maintains customer documentation by file name and date received.
  • Produces accurate art and die files per customer blueprints and artwork using computer software programs.
  • Resolves minor design issues that need to be addressed for the printing process; works with the internal as well as external customers to resolve design issues that need approval, making design recommendations as needed to allow for the success of the printing process.
  • Inspects artwork for quality and accuracy.

Process Planner - 1st Shift

We have an opening for a Process Planner!

The Process Planner estimates the cost of manufacturing customer products and prepares a manufacturing plan for production. This includes reviewing customer blue prints and specifications, determining the most cost effective layout, utilizing costing formulas to determine price and working with the internal process to prepare the layout and instructions for the manufacturing plan. Lean methods are practiced to achieve process improvement in the department.

Assessment of Customer Specifications

  • Reviews external customer documents (prints, samples, any written specifications) for requirements.
  • Determines if required information is complete, if not, obtains any additional required information.
  • Assesses raw material, ink, tooling, and processes required to manufacture the customer product.
  • Determines if product can be manufactured completely in house, or if some jobs will need to be outsourced.
  • Ability to maintain a neat and organized work area so others can easily access files and documentation when required.

Cost Estimation

  • Determines cost for raw material, ink, tooling, and any special services.
  • Utilizes costing formulas and tools to create a pricing structure for customer product.
  • Reviews pricing for errors, possible required additions and/or discounts.
  • Determines unit price for each unit of measure required by the customer and documents determined pricing in the internal database in a timely manner.
  • Prepares an estimate of manufacturing costs and communicates the quote to the customer.
  • Reviews documents for cost savings alternatives.

Preparation of Manufacturing Plan for Production

  • Reviews internal production capabilities and processes used for manufacturing customer products.
  • Determines if capabilities and/or processes have improved or changed since the time of cost estimate.
  • Makes any necessary changes to the rough draft manufacturing plan and/or cost estimation.
  • Prepares the manufacturing plan for production of the customer products.

We are adding a Die Maker to our 1st Shift!

The Die Maker will build or repair all types, sizes and shapes of jigs, fixtures, tools and dies. Assembles and tests tools and dies on manufacturing equipment to assure they are press ready and meet customer’s specifications.

  • Prepares steel rule and punch press dies ahead of time to eliminate down time. Assures press ready tools to meet work schedule.
  • Reads and interprets information provided, i.e. blueprints, verbal or written instructions and/or sample parts, to build jigs, fixtures, tools and dies.
  • Replaces steel rule and repairs dies, including ejection work and re-ruling.
  • Plans the setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools, considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolants, and lubricants.
  • Determines specifications for inspection of work, using precision measuring and gauging tools, performing required inspection during building of the tool.
  • Uses manual equipment to build jigs, fixtures, tools and dies.
  • Fits and assembles jigs, fixtures, tools and dies.
  • Disassembles dies, changes piercers/punches – sharpens, re-aligns and cleans in the proper order.
  • Trouble shoot dies in need of spring pressure adjustment, timing or grinding, determining spring pressure needs or how much to grind off.
  • Maintains current status on die maintenance and tooling repairs, die making, die repairs, and re-rules.

We have an opening on our Accounting team for an Accounts Receivable Associate!

The Accounts Receivable Associate accurately completes all accounts receivable functions, closely following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Ensures professional contact with internal and external customers and vendors for DuraTech Industries and Pretasky companies.

  • Receives incoming customer payments.
  • Processes and posts receipts (checks, wire transfers and ACH payments).
  • Follows established procedures for processing receipts, cash, etc.
  • Investigates and resolves customer inquiries.

We are adding a Plant Manager to our team!

The Plant Manager acts as the key driver of continuous improvement by analyzing production processes, work flow, personnel requirements, capacity, equipment, etc. Provides effective leadership and promotes good working relationships. Meets and exceeds customer’s quality and service expectations through our commitment to being a Lean Manufacturing organization. Works closely with the Vice President of Manufacturing to develop and implement long and short term operating objectives aimed at improving safety, quality, and production performance.

Leadership and Management

  • Communicates one on one with Area Team Leaders and Assistant Team Leads.
  • Manages and promotes teamwork with Area Team Leaders and Assistant Team Leads.
  • Sets departmental goals in alignment with the company objectives and obtains planned results. Prepares budgets, progress reports and annual reports for Senior Leadership Team.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Follows laws and regulations with regards to human resources and safety. Interviews, hires, and trains team members; develops work schedules; authorizes leave, PTO and overtime; reviews performance; disciplines team members; and addresses complaints and resolves problems.
  • Ensures a safe work environment for all team members, identifying potential hazards and enforcing compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations.

  • Analyzes production processes and work flow, plant layout, personnel requirements, capacity, asset utilization, production scheduling, equipment, etc. Makes recommendations to VP of Manufacturing to improve safety and quality, simplify operations, and improve cost effectiveness.
  • Uses the tools and problem solving skills to identify and complete Kaizen events.
  • Works with the QA Department to determine focus areas for process improvement efforts.
  • Researches new types of equipment/technology geared toward improving overall capacity and production rates.
  • Documents and tracks project improvement initiatives.

Plans and Directs Production Activities

  • Plans, organizes, directs and coordinates the work of department team members for effective and efficient operations.
  • Ensures prompt communication with maintenance regarding equipment failures.
  • Communicates with the Scheduler to revise production schedules as a result of equipment failure or operating problems.
  • Directs communications to Customer Service Representatives concerning customer order status or delayed production.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; continued education in business administration, engineering, materials science, logistics or chemistry preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in manufacturing and supervision required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in continuous improvement/lean manufacturing principles required.

  • Programs, operates and trouble shoots all Printed Electronics Department automated equipment. Pick N Place, dispenser, Flex Laser, Thompson Die Press.
  • Sets-up and operates Flex Laminator.
  • Applies encapsulant over SMD components.
  • Hand applies individual switch layers, insulating tape, overlays to circuit pack layer and membrane switch to subpanel when required.
  • Crimps and applies housings of terminal pins using Manual, Auto or Berg Crimper when needed.
  • Follows industry standard ESD protocol.
  • Tests circuit electrical function using a Mistral Keypad Tester.
  • Packages finished product in a manner to prevent damage in shipping.
  • Verifies product conformance to customer specification.

 Ideal candidates will bring:

  • High school degree or equivalent required.

We are hiring a Digital Operator!

The Digital Operator sets up the digital equipment, prints on thermal and UV inkjet printers, laminating, splitting, inspection, and packaging of the thermal printed final product. This position will troubleshoot machinery and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and quantity of production.

  • Sets up and operates all digital printing machines.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment on a daily basis and maintains a clean work environment.
  • Produces parts according to customer specifications and company standards.
  • Performs first piece inspection and in-process inspection; follows inspection guideline based on the companies’ standards.
  • Inspects product regularly during press run making mechanical and software adjustments to assure quality is maintained.
  • Performs other production operations such as laminating, cutting, weeding, splitting and packaging.
  • Trouble shoots printing problems and finds answers or seeks help from team leader or trainer.
  • Notifies team leader of recurring equipment malfunction or poor quality of raw materials.

We have an opening for a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician!

The Manufacturing Systems Maintenance Technician II installs new equipment and ensures functionality; adjusts and maintains equipment through trouble shooting and preventative maintenance; and assists with other projects relating to building repairs, maintenance, and new construction.

  • Performs preventative maintenance checks and inspection of assigned equipment.
  • Records routine maintenance checks as required, documenting any problem areas.
  • Installs new and used equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
  • Diagnoses mechanical problems checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs to make the necessary corrections.
  • Designs new equipment or structures to aid in the repair or maintenance of machines, mechanical equipment, or building constructions.
  • Tests equipment for proper operation after repairs, changeovers, or extended down time.
  • Prepares lists of materials needed for preventative maintenance or minor repairs.
  • Creates project lists for small scale jobs.
  • Safely trouble shoots and repairs machine electrical wiring.
  • Reports findings to senior technicians and System Coordinator and takes appropriate action as instructed.
  • Abides by DuraTech’s lock-out-tag-out policy.

Ideal Candidates will have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in electrical, electronic, mechanical or related field preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in machine maintenance required.
  • Experience using a wide range of hand and power tools in maintenance, mechanical or carpentry trades required.
  • Proficient experience in the following areas: drafting; electrical troubleshooting and installation; mechanics and machine fabrication; HVAC; hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Experience using technical manuals and schematics.
