DuraTech Wins IMDA Award

June 14, 2016

DuraTech Industries won the Gold Award for Best Prototype Part at the recent 2016 TopCon and IMDA Symposium held in Franklin, Tennessee June 6 and 7 2016.

The winning prototype is a traditional in-mold decorated (IMD) label with the addition of functional circuit inks after the graphic inks. The end result is a single piece label that can be molded like an IMD part but includes the functionality of a membrane switch. This particular part included 17 capacitive touch buttons and 53 LEDs with double layer tight pitch circuit printing.

This joint prototype project was developed over the past two years by DuraTech Industries and Jabil.
